Jared Ebanks Jordan Brand has made a concerted effort throughout the past year to revitalize Jordan’s second signature offering, collaborating with the likes of Union, Titan and J. Balvin alongside executing a slew of inline releases. With the Beaverton brand’s slate of silhouettes for 2023 slowly being revealed, the Air Jordan 2’s increased rate of colorways is set to be extended next year beginning with this “Lucky Green” ensemble.
27 years later and His Airness’ 63-point performance against the Celtics continues to be harkened as a ready outfit for Jordan’s roster of propositions, having already been set up to explore both the Air Jordan 1 and AJ 3 throughout the new year. While the aforementioned efforts enjoy stark black contrasts, the Bruce Kilgore and Peter Moore joint construction instead enjoys a dominantly white treated upper, casting the colorless hue across its perforated vamp, tongue, heel collar and reptile-like midfoot overlay accented by a thin black strip. Placed along its heel counter and the tongue’s winged insignia, synonymous green shades embolden the upper half of the silhouette in tandem with the trim of its tongue and ankle for a centralized impact whereas cream-colored eye stays render a vintage-inspired match across its midsole.
