The New Balance 550 debuted in 1989, but it didn’t quite enjoy the spotlight until 2020. Over the last two years, the silhouette has been a mainstay in sneaker rotations everywhere, becoming particularly popular amongst women. To this case, the model has indulged in several exclusive styles for women, with the latest arriving in the form of a white and silver ensemble.
Reminiscent of the work Teddy Santis has done with Aimé Leon Dore, the upcoming pair features a simple look across its upper and sole unit. Perforated leather and mesh materials make up the sneaker’s top-half, with the profile “N” logos, accents near the collar, and function-first molding along the heel introducing a contrasting grey hue. Branding on the top of the tongue and spine also indulge in the pair’s contrasting tone. Underfoot, the color story stays the same as decades-old traction takes on a greyscale look.
Enjoy official images of the pair ahead, and anticipate a newbalance.com launch soon.
