Junya Watanabe Reveals Collaborative New Balance 650 Amidst AW23 Collection

Junya Watanabe Reveals Collaborative New Balance 650 Amidst AW23 Collection

Inherently unlike the collaborative work of many COMME des GARÇONS labels, Junya Watanabe‘s long-running relationship with New Balance has solely produced understated, albeit luxuriously-crafted footwear. AW23 offers much of the same, as the newly-reissued 650 walks down the runway in three blacked-out colorways.

Rarely ever has the Japanese designer removed the essence of his canvas of choice. This continues to be the case here, as the New Balance 650 remains largely unchanged from its general form. The materials at hand, though, are a bit more out of the norm, and each of the three upcoming colorways are distinct in this respect. One pair is reminiscent of your average runner, layering mesh underneath leather; the next is far more expensive in feel, as suede clashes against crocodile-like textures; and the last brings the themes back to normality, opting for hairy suedes throughout.

Enjoy an early look at the Junya Watanabe x New Balance 650 right here. A release date, though yet to be officially revealed, is likely to fall within the last half of the year.

In other news, the Air Jordan 1 Satin Bred is releasing again for Holiday 2023.
