LeBron James is just 158 points shy of surpassing Kareem Abdul-Jabbar to become the NBA’s All-Time Points Leader. While the League, fans and everyone in between are estimating that the momentous occasion will take place next month, the Beaverton-based brand has its own plans to cement and honor the infamous record during All-Star weekend, with the four-time Champion’s Nike LeBron 20 “All-Star” colorway.

While Giannis’ Nike Zoom Freak 4 looked to the Jurassic Period for influence, the Nike LeBron 20 mimics the centuries-old discoveries and secrets that lay preserved in prehistoric icebergs, casting a vibrant “Blue Lightning” hue across its tongue construction and sock liner in a clad fashion. Infusing its tightly knit upper in a marbled wash of the latter in tandem with splashes of “Coconut Milk”, the doubled-up midfoot Swooshes inject a Travis Scott-esque personality with its light cream and presiding “Iron Grey” Checks indulging in a reverse composition. Proffering a wash of premium embellishments through the golden metallic dubraes and eye stays a faded peach sole unit underfoot coordinates its forefoot engravings with The King’s many record-breaking accomplishments. Embossed at its heel tab reading “The Records of King James” and along the tongue rendering “Legacy Preserved”, the honorary ensemble mirrors the Freak 4’s bone-style roman numerals exercising the year at the base of the quarter in conclusion.

Travis Scott’s Air Jordan 1 collaboration is, however, hardly the first to experiment with a reverse Swoosh. The Nike LeBron series itself toyed with the flipped logo on the LeBron 10, although it’s clear that the Swoosh tucked into the midsole is more akin to TS’s collaborations.

Set to release on February 16th, enjoy official images of the Nike LeBron 20 “All-Star” below while we sit tight on further release details in the meantime.

In other news, the collaborative Tiffany Co. x Nike Air Force 1 Low is releasing in 2023.
