Michael Le Today, Michael Jordan is widely celebrated as the goat. But before the athlete went on to the UNC Tar Heels and Chicago Bulls, he was stuck playing in JV at Laney High School. And to ensure this story remains unforgotten, Jordan Brand is once again flaunting Laney High’s signature colors, this time by way of the Air Jordan 1.
Landing right in time for All-Star Weekend, the Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG “Laney” proudly celebrates MJ’s alma mater. “Varsity Maize” is applied throughout the shoe’s base, dressing just underneath a series of “Varsity Royal” overlays. Touches of “Fire Red” and “Sail” are used adjacent, finishing the “Nike Air” branding and midsole, respectively.
Enjoy a detailed look at the Air Jordan 1 “Laney” ahead. Pairs will be made available tomorrow, Feb. 17th, through both Nike SNKRS as well as the select retailers listed below.
In other news, an early look at the Nike Air Max 1 Mica Green was just unveiled.
