The Air Jordan 2 Low has historically been out of the spotlight, but the last two years have seen it enjoy some attention. Ahead of spring, the silhouette emerged in a “UNC to CHI” color scheme exclusive to women.
First teased in mid-November 2022, the unreleased retro bears semblance to an Air Jordan 1 included in 2019’s Fearless Collection. The story of Michael Jordan’s move from Chapel Hill to the “Windy City” has been well-documented, but only recently has Brand Jordan done so through sneakers. (NIKE, Inc. dropped a two-pair pack in 2017 featuring the Converse Fastbreak Mid and Air Jordan 2 “Alumni Game” under a similar concept.)
The majority of the pair favors a “White” and “Sail” arrangement that allows for the slightest contrast to enjoy the spotlight. “Fire Red” animates branding on the tongue and accents on the sides, while “Dark Powder Blue” lands on the ribbed spine panel. Additionally, the UNC-appropriate hue appears on the outsole. Altogether, the aforementioned components help expand both the Jordan 2 Low and Jumpman’s legacies.
Enjoy official images of the pair ahead while you wait to try your luck via nike.com on March 8. Pricing arrives at $150 USD.
In related sneaker news, the original Nike Air Flight Huarache returns in April.
