Celebrating 40 years of timeless design last year, the Nike Air Force 1 Low simultaneously returned a colorful homage to the West Indies and its 13 independent island countries and 18 dependencies over the summer. While the model was dominated by vibrant green hits, the original 2003 release was just one of four silhouettes released in concert with NYC’s West Indian Day Parade Carnival.
Ahead of the upcoming celebration, The Swoosh is harkening back to the quartet of colorways by plucking the bright yellow accented pair from the archives for a return two decades later. Brightening the “University Gold” tincture that formerly graced the August release in seldom, the melon-tinted hue mirrors the color blocking of its green counterpart by consuming the nylon sock liner, heel tab and tread. Coordinating the streamlined, tumbled leather construction of the AF1’s celebratory anniversary tooling, a majority of the upper real estate comes dipped in blank white hues, while a finishing touch of orange graces the trio of branded embellishments working their way up the tongue.
Accompanied by “WEST INDIES” logos and the names of the thousands of islands within the subregion littering the insoles, enjoy official images of the Nike Air Force 1 Low “Yellow/West Indies” below while we sit tight on further release details expected to be made available over the coming months.
