Jared Ebanks Following the Christian Tresser design readying both its OG Silver and Gold Bullet ensembles for The Swooshes’ celebratory Air Max Day, the Nike Air Max 97 has since fallen into a vein of inline releases. Recently, the Japanese bullet train-inspired silhouette paired lush grape highlights atop a simplistic monochrome base.
Breaking up its typical transitionary slate of shades, a blank white hue encapsulates a dominant majority of the upper’s tooling. Contrasted immediately by jet-black embellishments filling the sock liner, the duo of pull tabs and lace overlay, the full-length flat leather mudguard embarks on a color-matched pitch-dark association in tandem with its tread underfoot. Similar to its “Racer Blue” accented counterpart that was revealed in February, a thin strip of “Action Purple” stretches across a singular TPU overlay while further illuminating the embroidered mid-foot Swoosh and tongue tab above.
