Hype follows Jerry Lorenzo wherever he goes, from Vans all the way to the Three Stripes. But in the years since Fear of God and adidas inked their long-term deal, fans have been given very little save for an Innersect Shanghai exclusive release of the two’s “Athletics” collection. There was but a slight glimmer of hope back in March of this year, however, as leakers revealed an early sample from the collaboration. This finally brought Lorenzo out of silence, as he subsequently told Complex that the actual Fear of God x adidas sneakers would be unveiled at the Hollywood Bowl alongside the label’s 8th collection.
That day has finally come to pass. And with the likes of Ye, Pusha T, and industry natives in attendance, Fear of God’s upcoming adidas basketball sneaker walked down the runway in not just one but two colorways. At first glance, the model bears a subtle resemblance to Lorenzo’s past work. This is most apparent in their colorways, as the designer has used similar tones as well as contrast toes for silhouettes like the Fear of God 1 and Fear of God Raid. The design itself, too, seems to come from the same source of inspiration, boasting minimal lines, unobtrusive branding, and thick cupsoles.
Enjoy an early look at the upcoming Fear of God x adidas sneaker ahead. More information — such as pricing as well a release date — should be revealed soon, so sit tight and stay tuned for further updates.
