The Nike Air Max Plus is currently celebrating its 25th anniversary. Despite its original styles rumored for retros next years, Sean McDowell’s classic design has emerged in new looks over the last four months.
Recently, the palm tree-inspired silhouette surfaced in a mostly off white and grey ensemble. Mesh bases opt for a gradient that goes from dark to light tones the farther away from the tongue. TPU overlays throughout the upper maintain a semi-translucent finish that plays a complementary role to the blueish profile swooshes nearby. Reinforcing components at the toe and along the sides favor a bone-colored look that contrasts the pitch-white that takes over the midsole underneath. Whale tail-shaped mid-foot shanks also don a cool gradient, while the Air Max Plus‘ visible Air units receive an aqua blue update. Lastly, the made-for-running traction underfoot reverts to the grayish color present up-top.
