Palace Applies Hiking Attitude To Their New Balance 991 Collaboration

Always dependable on providing cheeky commentary to its releases, Palace Skateboards now looks towards an obvious hiking aesthetic for its latest collaboration with New Balance.

Much like their New Balance 580 project last September, this latest capsule of New Balance 991 designs brings forth an outdoorsy attitude by applying colors commonly found on adventuring gear, with high-visibility colors adding some much-needed character. One of the 991s sees a bright purple and hot pink latched onto the simple black/grey base, while the second colorway approaches a very common selection of teal, purple, and brown shades. Furthermore, the base layer trades the standard mesh for a nylon material, further achieving the outdoorsy intent.

Palace recently shared an official launch video for their collaboration, depicting prehistoric men discovering “fire” in the form of these 991s (see below).

This collaboration is currently set to release across all Palace Skateboards chapter stores in the US, Japan, and UK on May 12th, 2023. A newbalance.com release date is likely scheduled for later this month.
