For 26 years Nike’s expansive lifestyle archives have been dressed with bulbous Jewel Swooshes. This coming summer the Beaverton brand is exploring the bejeweled design with a bit more gusto as the logo drifts away from its Air Force 1 introduction and towards the Nike Air Max 90.
Previously attributing a touch of blue within a clad-greyscale ensemble, the iconic Tinker Hatfield design simultaneously assumes a role in the upcoming “Black/Yellow” colorway series that recently appeared on a Dunk Low and Air Max 97. As such, a collection of ballistic mesh, rubber and tumbled leather assumes an all-out tonal jet-black upper. Save the bright yellow tongue tab and insoles, a complimentary touch of charcoal surround the Air bag underfoot while accenting the mid-foot Swoosh and tread. White is reserved to illuminate the midsole with monochrome flavor while the interior tooling of the Max Air cushioning system receives a seldom yellow injection in closing.
Release date information has yet to be announced, so in the meantime enjoy official images of the Nike Air Max 90 Jewel “Black/Yellow” below.
For more lifestyle offerings from the Beaverton brand, the latest Nike Air Max 1 ’86 is receiving a textured redesign at the hand of Nike Korea.
