Following its revival earlier last year, the New Balance 1906R has strayed further and further from its OG styles. In addition to teaming up with several of the brand’s collaborative partners, the silhouette has recently begun adjusting its construction, swapping out mesh for a variety of different textiles.
Here, the 1906R is arguably at its most elevated. The mesh inserts typical of the sneaker are replaced with a more robust, texturally simple canvas, whose light grey finish matches the suede paneling layered right over top. What’s more, the heel counter forgoes the usual TPU shell, opting instead for a more luxurious piece of natural leather. Elsewhere, the branded tab on the tongue is done up in the same material, further complementing the off-white shades used along the lace unit as well as the midsole.

Speaking of NB, three new Aime Leon Dore New Balance 860v2 are available for pre-order right now.
