Colorful treatments on the Nike Air Max Plus are few and far between, as the late 90s silhouette prefers to dress in a tonal collection of neutral shades. While simplistic, uniform takes on the latter will continue to evolve throughout the coming fall season, the Sean McDowell design now explores an expressive ensemble eerily reminiscent of the New York Knicks color palette.
Before the Knickerbocker fervor takes hold, the palm tree-inspired model assumes a near “Triple White” base layer as everything from the mesh upper and leather heel to the laces and midsole are cured in colorless tones. Elsewhere, a “Total Orange” to “Royal Blue” gradient anchors the TPU form strips and mid-foot shank as the trim of the profile swooshes and tongue tabs are illuminated in the former blue tint. What’s more, the full-length Air Max cushioning system underfoot is injected with a lasting orange coat.
