The New Balance 550 “Mushroom” Gets Ready For Fall With Suede Uppers

feature image

The New Balance 550 became an “it” shoe with the help of Teddy Santis, but it’s remained one of the more popular sneakers on the market with compelling in-line releases.

Recently, Steven Smith’s once-forgotten silhouette appeared with shaggy “Mushroom” suede across its uppers, signaling the end of summer and beginning of fall. The brownish tone most famously appeared on a collaboration between JJJJound and New Balance, but the newly-surfaced NB 550 suggests the muted color will also be explored by the New England company. Supporting accents throughout the upper interrupt the uniform finish with “White” contrast, which also appears on the midsole. Old school basketball traction underfoot introduces a beige tone into the mix, delivering a lifestyle-focused touch to the performance-informed tooling.

Enjoy detailed photos of the pair ahead, and anticipate a newbalance.com launch before 2023 ends.

In related sneaker news, the New Balance 990v6 continues to expand its roster of styles.
