The Nike Air Max Plus Appears With Toggle Laces And A “Black/Metallic Silver” Coat

Nike’s celebration of the Air Max Plus‘ 25th anniversary does not slow down.

Sean McDowell designed the sneaker in 1998 as a Foot Locker-exclusive, ushering in a new form of cushioning called Tuned Air. The silhouette didn’t take off on the performance front as some of its Air Max-assisted predecessors, but it gained a cult-following amongst streetwear enthusiasts due to its reflective hits and bold gradient finishes. In recent memory, the Nike Air Max Plus has enjoyed newfound attention for its ruggedness and versatility, especially as the brand has offered the style in uniform finishes. Figures like Drake have also catapulted the Nike Sportswear model into the spotlight, introducing the 25-year-old design to new fans. For its latest ensemble, the Tuned Air pioneer has taken on a simple “Black” aesthetic complemented by “Metallic Silver” accents. Toggle lacing injects a sportier look into the stealthy sneaker, which sits on understated sole units.

Enjoy official photos of the pair ahead, and anticipate a nike.com launch before 2023 ends.
