Nike is bringing the USA’s red, white, and blue to “the green” via the Air Max 1 Golf.
Over the last decade, the Swoosh conglomerate has made a large push to convert performance models from running and basketball categories into viable options for golf. The Nike Air Max 1, with its protective upper and comfort-oriented design, has emerged in almost a dozen modifications for 18 holes. The latest take on Tinker Hatfield’s iconic creation abandons suede panels in favor of tougher leather components. Mudguards revel in a glossy, candy apple-reminiscent finish that contributes to the remainder of the patriotic makeover. Profile swooshes indulge in a navy hue that differs from the shiny red below, but make a statement via white-colored star embellishments; toe boxes also don perforations in the shape of stars. The rest of the Air Max sneaker also receives Independence Day-ready flair.
Enjoy official photos of the golf shoe ahead, as you wait for firm nike.com launch details. The pair is priced at $150 USD.
