With an insatiable appetite for living on the hardwood, Kevin Durant’s 16th signature silhouette was crafted to support him through 40-plus minutes of nothing but buckets. Boasting the same animal print mesh as the KD 14 with a bottom-loaded Zoom Air unit, the latest release from the Nike Basketball banner now animates its cobbled-together construction into a uniform “Ember Glow” treatment.
While the pair’s enlarged TPU arch has provided an ideal mid-point for split color blockings thus far, a tonal collection of red-hot shades cures the silhouette in its first clad-colored composition. With a number of textiles teaming up throughout the ensemble, some slightly lightened hues amplify the monochrome treatment with “Light Fusion Red” injections appearing along the nubuck overlay, eyestay and midsole. What’s more, the heel’s profile swooshes and the tongue’s bulbous insignia render color-matches to the mainstay tint alongside the watch gear-inspired tread underfoot.
Enjoy a detailed look at the Nike KD 16 “Ember Glow” while we await further release details.
For more basketball offerings, the New Balance TWO WXY V4 “Dualism” has been officially released.
