New York’s Extra Butter Presents The Rangers/Islanders Rivalry With adidas Collaboration

feature image

While sneaker boutique Extra Butter is best known for its love of film (and if you’ve been to any of their stores, you’d know right away), the figureheads behind the shop are also passionate about the sport of hockey. With their roots in Long Island and flagship location in the NYC boroughs, it was only a matter of time before their heated fandom of the Rangers and Islanders came to light with an appropriate shoe collaboration.

The adidas Rivalry seems to be made for this type of storytelling, and Extra Butter is ready to drop the puck on their latest project with the three-stripes’ Consortium category. They’ve reimagined the basketball silhouette with perfect color applications that reflect the two New York-based NHL teams, complemented by a worn-in, aged aesthetic. Deep navy and rich red appear on the Rangers pair, with the Statue Of Liberty’s crown appearing on the heel, whereas the Islanders side utilizes that teal, orange, and navy with the ocean waves on the heel.

Both pairs are currently expected to release on adidas.com for $130 apiece on Monday, September 25th, 2023.
