For the fourth straight year, Nike will be paying a dutiful homage to Día De Muertos through an expansive range of products and footwear. While the Air Max 1 seemingly kicked off our first look at the overall collection in August, the latter was instead positioned in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month. After making its appearance in last year’s roster, the Air Jordan 1 Zoom CFMT 2 returns to the official Day of the Dead with its sequel in tow.
Borrowing the same pitch-dark aesthetic that crept up onto the heel of its Dunk Low counterpart, the cushioned offshoot of MJ’s first-ever signature silhouette is bestowed with a striking burnished finish. Cured in smooth black leather that wears away to reveal hits of “Pale Ivory”, the pair’s brush-off design imbues the model with further innate detailing such as the floral stamped vamps and the embroidered golden skull which illuminates the lower heel. Zoom Air tongue tabs receive contrasting white stitching while the Formula 23-assisted midsole embarks on one last gradient as the toe to heel is filled in by black and cream, respectively.
The Air Jordan 1 Zoom CMFT 2 “Día De Muertos” is scheduled to release on October 21st for a retail price of $165. In the meantime, the pair can be seen below in detailed imagery.
For more from the Beaverton brand, the SB Dunk High “Sweet Tooth” recently surfaced in official imagery.
