Disney’s Create 100 Auction Features Unique Items From adidas, Virgil Abloh Securities, And Others

Disney is finally 100. To celebrate a century of creating magic, the Burbank, Calif. headquartered company has partnered with a number of creators to develop unique items and experiences to benefit Make-A-Wish. Items include the Black is King catsuit worn by Beyoncé, life-size hariko papier-mâché YODA by NIGO®, and “Structural Sorcerer,” a Mickey Mouse sculpture designed by Virgil Abloh Securities’ design firm, ALASKA ALASKA.

adidas has also donated a number of footwear projects to Disney’s Create 100 auction, which closes on October 30th. The Three Stripes has chosen to highlight designers from S.E.E.D., its School for Experiential Education in Design. Kimmiski Adams and Daziah Green have brought Princess and The Frog (2009) and Encanto (2021) to sneaker form, reimagining the adidas Rivalry High and Forum Lo, respectively. Each pair is clad in color palettes directly-borrowed from their respective movies’ protagonists, with removable attachments throughout the upper allowing winners to customize their shoes. Both one-of-a-kind adidas Originals styles are a U.S. Men’s 9 and come in special packaging.

Charlie Kirihara, Color and Materials Designer for adidas Football (U.S.), also worked on a custom sneaker for the event in support of Make-A-Wish. Titled “Part(s) of Your World,” the adidas Gazelle Vintage features a collage design inspired by The Little Mermaid (1989, 2023). The low-top sneaker enjoys disparate patterns throughout the upper, as well as a number of accoutrements that aim to inspire a new generation of creatives to see treasure in what some consider trash.

Starting bids for the featured adidas shoes range from $150 to $450 (USD). Items from Swarovski, Nourine Hammad, and others begin at over $10,000.
