Jared Ebanks Each holiday season throughout the 2010s, Nike Basketball became synonymous with creating a singular inspirational banner for each of its signature silhouettes to fall under. From 2012’s “Galaxy” installment to 2014’s NOLA Gumbo League, the Beaverton brand has since returned to the all-encompassing aesthetic featuring the Nike Greater Than Series.
Taking on the brand’s three main inline efforts for the hardwood, the Zoom GT Cut 2, GT Jump 2 and the GT Hustle 2 are all slated underneath this coming December’s “Greater Than Ever” collection. Having previewed a few of the silhouettes on their own, the full breadth of the roster of models sees a repeating pitch-dark treatment take hold. From the profile swoosh to the laces, tongue and inner lining each of the compositions executes a clad jet-black upper while seldom crimson red accents help illuminate varying elements along the midsole, heel and the added dog tag. What’s more, each pair’s Zoom cushioned sole unit is stricken with a striking iridescent finish that allows for purple and teals to enter the fold underfoot.
The Nike GT Series “Greater Than Ever” collection is set to release on December 14. In the meantime, each pair can be seen ahead in detailed imagery.
