Updated June 21st, 2024: Official images of the Air Max Plus OG “Sunset” just came in, hinting that a release is coming sooner rather than later. No firm information has been shared just yet, but indications point to a Fall 2024 arrival for $180 in men’s sizing. It’s one of three original Air Max Plus colorways dropping in 2024, joined by the “Voltage Purple” pair and upcoming “Hyper Blue” application. Although one year removed from the 25th Anniversary of the Air Max Plus, 2024 is brewing up to be an even bigger, better celebration of the beloved silhouette. In addition to the “Hyper Blue,” which was confirmed to be returning back in March, we’ll soon be seeing the revival of yet another iconic style: the “Sunset.”
Originally released in 1998, the Nike Air Max Plus “Sunset” has been Retro’d a few times in the decades that followed its debut, subsequently hitting the shelves in 2014 and then again in 2018. Now, six years since its last appearance, the colorway is slated to release amidst the Swoosh’s Fall 2024 catalog. And although no actual images of the shoe have surfaced just yet, it’s very likely the reissue’s design and construction will be close to that of the OG, as the brand has made many an effort to recreate the look and feel of its most historic offerings.
