Michael Le During the height of the Flyknit craze, Nike couldn’t quite keep pairs on the shelves. Multi-color Racers and Trainers were especially sought after, often selling out within mere moments. And while this is certainly no longer the case today, it could very well be time for a comeback.
Given the nature of the trend cycle, it’s highly possible that Multi-Color Flyknits could once again surge in popularity. And if this newly-revealed Air VaporMax 2023 Flyknit is any indication, Nike would most certainly be on board.
Compared to several of the most notable offerings from the heyday of Multi-Color Flyknits, this VaporMax is nowhere near as bold. Although the weave along the tongue and the lowermost half of the upper does conjure to mind images of the pair’s predecessors, the rest of the construction is much more understated, opting for a largely blacked-out look. Elsewhere, the colorway continues to set itself apart with hot pink Flywire, a bright white Swoosh, and a tinted bubble sole.
