This Travis Scott Air Jordan 1 Sample Walked So The “Palomino” Retro Could Run

It can be yours via a GOAT App auction.

This Travis Scott Air Jordan 1 Sample Walked So The “Palomino” Retro Could Run

Houston’s Travis Scott has more than a dozen collaborations with Nike, Inc. under his belt, which almost included an Air Jordan 1 “Black Dark Mocha.”

As is normal with footwear projects, La Flame and his Oregon-based family sampled different versions of their legendary “Dark Mocha” collaboration from September 2019. Thanks to the GOAT app, those of us not invited behind-the-scenes can now enjoy a look at an unreleased edition of the modern classic Air Jordan. The pair features soft fabric across the bulk of the upper, and indulges in a faded “Black,” not “White.” Panels around the lower heel share a deep brown with leather – not suede – ankle flaps and reverse lateral swoosh. Elsewhere, the perforated toe box also enjoys a different arrangement than on the retail version, drawing a clearer line between the sample and Air Jordan 1 “Palomino” release from just two months ago. “Sail” midsoles and pitch-dark outsoles round out the sample.

An official look at Scott and team’s scrapped collaboration arrives via GOAT as part of its Black Friday 2023 (BF23) celebration. The event will run until Friday, November 24th at 7:15pm PT (10:15pm ET) and is accessible via the GOAT app. Travis Scott’s “Black Dark Mocha” Jordan 1 sample will be available at auction, as are other rare pairs like the Off-White x Futura x Nike Dunk Low “New York Mets” and unreleased Dunk Low Pro SB “Freddy Krueger.”
