The New Balance 9060 has cemented its place within the world of sneakers.
Aggressive in nature, the silhouette reimagines New Balance heritage for both the present day and future. Sharp edges, exaggerated proportions, and mesh bases come together to present the Boston-based company’s legacy in a new way. Joe Freshgoods got first dibs on the silhouette, applying spring-appropriate pastels to it, but the NB 9060 has arguably been more “at home” clad in understated color schemes. As winter finds its stride, the retro-futurist design has emerged in two subdued arrangements: “Blacktop/Dark Moss/Black” and “Grey Matter/Concrete/December Sky.” These ensembles don’t introduce new hues to the relatively new sneaker, but they complement a modified version of New Balance’s modern hit.
Both aforementioned styles maintain the general design that people have come to love, but opt for a speed-lacing system, complete with toggle component. While not original to the NB 9060, the change fits in well with the shoe’s look given its aggressive, almost boot-like aesthetic. Netizens have taken to social media to praise the silhouette for its comfort, which now benefits from easier on-and-off functionality.
