Confirmed in late October, the Nike Dunk Low CO.JP “Reverse Curry” has recently surfaced via official imagery ahead of its return in Summer 2024.
An iconic style from the “Concept Japan” collection that was once-exclusively found in Far East Asia, the two-tone pair is set to help bring Peter Moore’s iconic design closer to its 40th anniversary. In terms of build, the “Reverse Curry” pair doesn’t deliver anything refreshing, following a 38-year-old blueprint faithfully. Culturally, however, the return of the decades-old colorway suggests the Swoosh pays attention to its consumer base, as longtime fans of the once-Japan-exclusive Nike Dunk have requested a true-reissue of the style for some time. The drop’s 25th anniversary will be the occasion for the first-time retro.
As was the case in 1999, the low-top silhouette features “Dark Curry” and “White” tones throughout its upper and sole unit. The darker of the two hues takes on the toe box, mid-foot panels, and upper heel underlays, allowing for accompanying leather panels to revel in a “colorless” arrangement. Underfoot, the color story stays the same, as Moore’s beloved radial-patterned traction opts for a solid “Dark Curry” makeup. Midsoles keep things clean, allowing for both the outsole and upper’s touches to revel in the spotlight.
