New Balance Adds “Black Coffee” To Its 2002R GORE-TEX Lineup

The 2002R had lots to offer in 2023, flooding retailers with a seemingly non-stop stream of collaborations and inline models. As we delve deeper into the new year, New Balance looks to keep pace by adding to its selection of GORE-TEX 2002R offerings.

While the Boston brand’s latest delivery probably won’t fly off shelves like the upcoming JJJJound 2002R that has emerged in recent months (itself laden with GORE-TEX), it offers up an attainable alternative packed with the same industry-leading engineering.

As with most GORE-TEX sneakers, the best feature is the one you don’t see; weather-resistant fabric woven into the cream mesh upper to provide durability and comfort. Elsewhere, the sneaker wears a fairly uniform mix of dark brown suede and nubuck, with visible off-white contrast stitching on the overlays and leather-clad N logo. Pick these up for $179.99 on newbalance.com via the links below.

In other news, patent leather makes its way onto the New Balance 550 in three new colorways.
