NYC-born Quartersnacks has channeled their influence on the downtown skate culture into some applause-worthy projects with the brands that push the sport forward. As recently as 2021, they applied quirky zebra print on the Nike SB Dunk Low, inspired by grab-and-go cakes that are found at corner stores and bodega. For their next shoe release, they’re returning to animal prints, but in a far more subtle way.
Their first project with CONS, the skateboarding division of Converse, is around the One Star Pro. The brand’s iconic basketball shoe, refitted for skate purposes, is presented in two elegant colorway executions of Dark Clove/Cherry and Black/Hyper Blue, with snakeskin patterns peek through the star-shaped cut-out on the buttery suede upper. The same pattern is color-matched to the custom insoles as well, while branding stays in the bold lane via the lettering on the tongue, the “25” by the upper logo, and a label that shares an important message of “…if you can’t ollie up it, don’t ollie down it.”
Alongside the Quartersnacks x Converse One Star Pro duo is tee, warm-up top, and basketball-inspired short. The entirety of the capsule will be available on Converse.com on March 1st, with a $80 MSRP per shoe.
In other upcoming collaboration news, the Naruto Crocs is officially dropping on February 27th at select retailers.
