The Nike Air Force 1 Mid Stays Classy In “Summit White/Obsidian”

This men's release slides in as we look to Spring '24.

The Nike Air Force 1 Mid Stays Classy In “Summit White/Obsidian”

With the Low edition of the Nike Air Force 1 claiming the most street-level recognizability and the High the most court-readiness, the AF1 Mid as a result is sometimes left as a (literal) middle child. Yet that’s not an entirely bad proposition, allowing the sneaker to weave between streetwear and functional appeal, exactly the case with the upcoming Air Force 1 Mid “Summit White/Obsidian Blue.”

Built on the iconic white-led palette that’s run the AF1 line for decades, the choices here instead add intrigue by changing up the traditional configuration. Instead of just one contrast shade, there’s two in “Obsidian” and pink. That navy definitely takes precedence here, hitting the outsole, primary Swoosh and tongue tag, but pink still plays an important role- donning the Air branding on the midsole and a smaller embroidered Swoosh on the strap closure.

There’s also a slight twist on the total-leather adornment AF1 fans know and love, swapped out for textured interior panelling and nubuck overlays, that latter material running through to the elevated straps.

Nike has confirmed a $130 retail price for the Air Force 1 Mid “Summit White/Obsidian”, but not yet a date. Instead, expect these rolling out to retailers and Nike.com in the coming weeks.

In other Swoosh news, as Air Max Day 2024 begins to take shape, the Air Max 1 “Hot Sauce” is rumored to join the slate surrounding March 26th.
