Though the Nike Book 1 only has a handful of public releases under its belt, Devin Booker himself has showcased a lengthy canon of colorways on his own accord. Weaving archival pairs onto his new signature, his exclusive versions have taken cues from the likes of the Nike Air Max 95, the Air Jordan 1 and the Nike Kobe 5. Returning to that well, he rocked a brand new pair inspired by the Nike ACG Air Mowabb this past Sunday as his Suns took on the Milwaukee Bucks.
The iconic mix of “Twine,” “Teal Charge” and “Club Gold” is a pretty dead giveaway to the foundation at play here. Yet it doesn’t end with the colorway. A second mini Swoosh is mapped on towards the toe-box and the branding on the rear pull tab changes its typeface, revamped to reflect the Air Mowabb logo that graced the OG’s outsoles.
Outside of the heavy influence of the Nike backlog, this pair also continues the outdoorsy lean of recent colorways like the Nike Book 1 “Rattlesnake” or Nike Book 1 “Hike.” Though those relied on animal print, this new PE may mean “wilderness” generally is a guiding light for upcoming colorways.
Regardless of what it implies for the future of the line, this “Mowabb” PE adds to a line of considered new looks as the Nike Book 1 continues its first year on the market. Just ahead, you’ll find high definition images captured the night of.
DBook’s teammate also made some headlines this weekend, as we got an early look at the Nike KD4 “Nerf” retro coming later this year.
