New Balance 993 MADE In USA “Purple Suede” Drops May 2nd

Updated April 24th, 2024: The New Balance 993 MADE in USA “Chive” is confirmed for a May 2nd launch, dropping alongside the similarly clad New Balance 993 “Purple Suede.” That information comes alongside official images of the shoes, which you can find included below. Expect a $220 retail price.

The New Balance MADE in USA preview was unveiled at the very start of February, igniting a lot of anticipation surrounding the tonal looks that creative director Teddy Santis had engineered. With the New Balance 990v4 “Macadamia Nut” and New Balance 990v4 “Arctic Grey” just a day away from releasing, we’re getting advance looks at the next set of drops.

The New Balance 993 MADE In USA “Purple Suede” appears true here to when we first got a look at it. A royal shade of purple dresses the entirety of the upper, a tad darker on the underlying mesh than on the vibrantly dressed layered suede above it. A faux aged midsole counters that design with two shades of off-white, a choice that’s mirrored by a neutral sockliner and tongue.

With the reputation that Santis’ Aimé Leon Dore imprint established for favoring those sorts of earthy shades, their inclusion isn’t a total surprise. Perhaps more noteworthy is the embrace of unabashed, bright color on this release and their sibling New Balance 993 “Chive,” anticipated for release around the same time.

The New Balance 993 “Purple Suede” is set to drop sometime in April, though a specific retail price isn’t clear at the time of writing. Below you’ll find some more detail shots of the upcoming pair.
