Skateboarding has always played an important role in youth culture, so you might be surprised to learn Nike SB has never released a kids-exclusive skate model, until now. The Beaverton brand sub-banner is set to roll out its first kids-only model across four fresh colorways in April 2024. Meet the Nike SB Day One.
The design of the shoe doesn’t appear to be influenced by any one silhouette in particular, but largely adheres to tried and true skate engineering practices apparent across low-top Nike SB cuts. Suede overlays and mesh paneling make for a durable wear, and a cupped sole adds stability and comfort underfoot, enhanced by a visible Zoom Air unit in the heel for big impact tricks. The shoes also come with a less than typical amount of foam in the sole, delivering lightweight appeal sure to be a drawing factor among a younger audience, specifically.
Four colorways mark the new model’s debut; Black/White, Black/Gum, Blue, and Light Pink. All four looks are available now at nike.com for $80 a pop, with plenty of additional looks expected to arrive later down the line. Enjoy detailed looks at all four colorways below, and return to our Sneaker Release Dates page for a full preview of upcoming Nike SB offerings.
