adidas Sent The Samba To Italy For A Luxurious, $350 Transformation

A luxury price point for the Samba's designer turn.

adidas Sent The Samba To Italy For A Luxurious, $350 Transformation

At this point, the adidas Samba has become a defining shoe of the current sneaker world. With much of its appeal coming from its timeless construction and accessible price point, adidas is bucking convention for its newest edition. The “Made In Italy” version swaps to luxe materials and designer manufacturing, hiking the price point up in turn.

Importantly, this isn’t the first edition of the “Made In Italy” Samba. A black pair emerged in February, slowly streaming to retailers since and introducing this improved construction in earnest. It’s only logical that a white version would be the follow-up, bringing back the contrast T toe suede that we associate with mainline Samba drops.

Consistent with that nocturnal edition, natural leather shading graces the sockliner and is mirrored via a gum sole underfoot. Though the leather appears familiar at first glance, it’s also refurbished for this new edition. Taken together, those changes speak to the Italian cobbling tradition, formally matched by the locally sourced materials that compose this shoe. Zooming out, it’s hard not to think of other recent international shifts in the wake of this sneaker, like the JJJJound adidas Samba that famously laid claim to a “Made In Germany” stamp.

The adidas Samba “Made In Italy” releases via the Confirmed app on April 18th. Get ready for a corresponding premium $350 retail price for these luxe kicks.

Elsewhere for the Three Stripes, the Bad Bunny adidas Campus saga ends with the “Final Campus” on May 11th.
