The 2025 calendar heats up.

Air Jordan 1 Low ‘85 “Royal” Releasing In 2025

Considering we’re still in the throes of the 35th anniversary of the Air Jordan 4, it’s hard to even think about the next Jordan Brand celebration. Nonetheless, 2025 brings on one of the most important birthdays in the imprint’s history- the 40th year of the Air Jordan 1. We already received word of the Air Jordan 1 “Bred” expected for next year, and now it’s joined by its palette swapped sibling.

It’s a low-cut version of the iconic sneaker, clad in the indelible black & blue leather. Additionally the ’85 subtitle tips off that it’ll emulate the 1’s original shape, continuing the “return to the roots” series that began back in 2020. This may initially reads as a quick retro turnaround given the “Royal Reimagined” last year, but similar releases are a bit farther back than you might think. Quiet as kept, the last High drop for the colorway will be eight years in the rearview by the time these come about, and the last Low release will be a decade old.

We still have a host of massive 2024 Jordan Release Dates left on the calendar, meaning that the biggest surprises for this AJ1 anniversary celebration are likely yet to be unveiled. However, these initial bits are eyebrow raising all the same, and it may be prudent to start budgeting for a massive consumer year well in advance.

Circling back to this year’s slate, the Air Jordan 4 “Military Blue” and Jordan Jumpman Jack both have releases in the next week, a one-two punch that delivers two of the biggest shoes of 2024.
