The New Balance 550 is showing no signs of slowing down, still arguably the biggest driver for the streetwear takeover New Balance is in the midst of. However, while the retro basketball looks it majors in are still successful, there’s certainly a need to spice up the formula if it’ll hold onto that pole position. Enter the latest theme for the New Balance 550, a trio of all-pastel colorways set to arrive for summer.
It may not be the biggest adjustment, but it is worthy of note that the model here swaps to an exposed foam tongue, a stutter step from the 550’s typical construction. Elsewise, you can expect the classic hardware for the vintage basketball model. In terms of palettes, the pair in “Slate Grey” is the easiest reached for, a head to toe alignment in conservative neutrals. On the other end, “Deep Lichen Green” provides the most pop, the true statement piece of the bunch. That leaves the “Rosewood” edition somewhere in the middle, turning things down in terms of contrast but still presenting a spring/summer ready colorway to add energy to your warm weather looks.
Each pair in the New Balance 550 “Monochromatic” Pack is expected in the coming weeks, all carrying a $120 sticker price. You can find official images just below to get familiar ahead of their arrival.
In other big release news, the Air Jordan 4 Military Blue continues a staggered drop schedule- exclusive SNRKS access opens on April 25th. Otherwise, keep a close eye on our Jordan Release Dates 2024 page for the latest.
