An oversized midsole carries the look.

The Air Jordan 1 Elevate Low Works In A Splash Of “Bordeaux”

Chunky sneakers are still “in” and Nike and its affiliates have responded by giving some of their most popular shoes full-fledged makeovers underfoot. Under the Jordan Brand umbrella, most efforts to capture the trending aesthetic center around the women’s Air Jordan 1 Elevate. With eyes towards summer, Jordan taps the Elevate Low for a new release with “Bordeaux” on the Swoosh and heel.

Presented with an all-white base this time around, the shoes get their appeal through and unapologetically oversized and retooled midsole. The tread underfoot has less grooves and edges than the mainline AJ1 sole, and a Jumpman logo on the heel portion makes use of all the extra space. The absence of branding on the tongue and heel (aside from stitched outlines) comes as a notable design choice, as do cork insoles and matching fabric on the inner portion of the heel.
