Even amid reports that Nike will be slowing production of the Air Force 1 and other staple models, the “Uptown” silhouette continues its march of ubiquity. The latest edition of the Nike Air Force 1 has an eye on Chapel Hill, detailing in vivid “University Blue.”

The prototypical Air Force 1 layout treats the Swoosh and midsole as a piece, often matching those sections in contrast tones. This configuration goes an even more reserved direction, only dotting the branding on its profile with the titular “University Blue.” The cracked leather up top and speckled midsole below create the slightest texture on the shoe, helping it stand out from run-of-the-mill AF1s in the margins. As the “Next Nature” subtitle would indicate, purchasing this pair is a step towards eco-consciousness, as this shoe boasts at least 20% recycled material by weight.
