Sneaker News Since its introduction to the market by Aimé Leon Dore in late 2020, the New Balance 550 has experienced a meteoric rise in popularity, only for it to cool off like many other 1980s-era retro basketball footwear models have. Despite those pivots in trendiness, the New Balance 550 continues to be one of the more inquired models, so news of its return should be music to the ears of anyone still interested in copping a pair.
Available now directly on New Balance is a new “Sea Salt” Pack in four colorways. Once again leveraging the popular vintage aesthetic look, New Balance aims for the pre-aged look with the yellowed midsoles, while the upper leather takes on an off-white shade with its own distinct color accent. Black, Marsh Green, Agate Blue, and Blast Red are the four options here; grouped in this quartet, we’re only reminded of Aimé Leon Dore’s game-changing collaboration that set the New Balance 550s on a fruitful path.
All four pairs are available now directly from New Balance online for $110 a-piece; see the full galleries and shopping sections below to secure your pair.
Stay on-brand, we just caught a first official look at the Aimé Leon Dore New Balance 1000 in black.
