Sneaker News HUF has officially announced the release information for their upcoming Air Max 1 collaboration. With three different colors offered and a staggered schedule, tracking all three down will be a challenge. On June 15th, all three colorways will be available on HUF online and in-store (LA, SF); HUF Japan (online/in-store) will release just the green and pink pairs. On June 22nd, the green colorway will be available on SNKRS, Nike NBHD stores, and top-tier skate-shops; the orange pair will be available in limited numbers in North America.

A History Of The Huf x Air Max 1
Existing as a respected skate brand, a compelling street/lifestyle brand, and a multi-brand retailer, San Francisco’s Huf laid the blueprint since 2002. It didn’t take long for Keith Hufnagel (RIP) to land his first ever collaboration with Nike, concocting a nod to the Bay Area city with a tie-dyed SB Dunk High. Shortly after was his first non-skate collaboration with the Swoosh in the form of an Air Max 1 — a project that many die-hard Air Max 1 fanatics consider one of the greatest ever.
The execution was rather simple; shades of grey accented by a cactus green with no signs of Huf branding whatsoever is what released to the public, although a super-limited Hyperstrike version (we’re talking maybe two dozen pairs) were created just for Friends & Family. This alternate version utilized different materials on the upper while boasting an embroidered skyline at the heel. There were also two unreleased color options in orange and pink, both of which Huf and Nike are looking to bringing back on June 15th.
On June 5th, Huf made the official announcement of its return on Instagram; showcasing a full timeline of Huf x Nike collaborations, the brand ends the slideshow with a shot of all three Air Max 1s with a June 15th date. It’s not clear which pairs will be available where, but it is likely that the orange and pink pairs will be more limited than the primary green version, which is also scheduled to hit SNKRS on June 22nd.
Earlier on May 31st, Huf revealed a first teaser of the upcoming re-release of their Huf Nike Air Max 1 collaboration. Unveiled is a new-look tongue label which see the HUF logo in San Francisco Giants-themed lettering below a white Swoosh logo. The original 2004 pair featured a standard “Nike Air” tongue logo. Additionally, Huf notes a June 15th release date; this could mark Huf’s exclusive first launch, with SNKRS following on June 22nd. Newer photos continue to surface as well.

San Francisco’s HUF and Nike look to honor the 20th Anniversary of their collaborative Air Max 1 with a release of three different colorways throughout the year. Alongside the original green version, Nike will also look to drop the unreleased orange and pink versions to the public this Summer.
Keith Hufnagel opened the first HUF doors in 2002 in SF, quickly establishing itself as a lifestyle and skate haven in the region. It rose to become one of the more reputable partners in the heydays of Nike collaborations, when projects were few and far in-between — and thusly widely cherished. Arguably best known for the tie-dye SB Dunk Highs from 2004, HUF brought its touch to the Air Max 1 of all things applying a simple yet timeless color way of Medium Grey and Green Apple with unique materials.
Adding to the lore of the HUF x Air Max 1 were the uber-limited hyperstrike iterations that saw perforated suede toe-boxes and embroidered stitching on the heel depicting the San Francisco skyline. There were also unreleased versions in pink and orange, both of which Nike plans to release during the Summer.

A first look at the 2024 version of the HUF x Air Max 1 has yet to be revealed, but Sneaker News confirms a June 22nd release date with an MSRP of $160.
