Action Bronson x New Balance was one of the biggest stories in sneakers when announced last year, and even after a prolonged rollout period, remains one of this year’s most anticipated collaborations. We’re underway with the second chapter, the Queens native’s three-pronged efforts on the New Balance 1906R finally beginning to hit shelves. After the sell-out success of the “Rosewater” edition last week, he’s doubling back with the sequel; the Action Bronson New Balance 1906R “Scorpius” releases via the rapper’s website this Friday according to a post on his Instagram stories.
In a recent appearance on GQ in which Action gives a quick overview of all three pairs, the Queens rapper confirms that this particular colorway is a “very limited drop”.
An energetic blend of neon green, bright orange, olive and aquamarine can be spotted across this shoe’s profile, another expression of the boisterous palettes that define Bronson’s footwear output. The off-the-wall choices continue with the materials, starting with perforated mesh under the “N” branding at the mid-foot. The rest of the upper displays skinny, elongated grooves, matched by a a chain link like arrangement on the tongue. At the edges, a sienna mudguard and steel grey midsole provide some grounded touches that ensure some daily driver appeal even amid this pair’s expressive design language.
The Action Bronson New Balance 1906R “Scorpius” lands on June 7th via the rapper’s website, likely retailing for $185.
