While low-top terrace classics like the adidas Samba rule the day, the Three Stripes brand has simultaneously embraced Y2K footwear trends by bringing back archived cuts alongside new retro-inspired models.
In 2022, adidas called on Australian fashion label Song for the Mute (SFTM) to help roll out the adidas Shadowturf, a new 2000s-inspired model that first took to market via a collaborative “Crimson” colorway. Many Three Stripes aficionados regard it as one of the more compelling releases of that year, paving way for more co-signed adidas footwear and apparel in seasonal SFTM collections ever since. If you’ve been keeping up with the Sydney-based brand in hopes of more Shadowturf drops, there’s good news ahead; two new colorways are set to release via adidas CONFIRMED on June 21st.
While joined by a clear Y2K look and feel, the two shoes differ drastically when it comes to their material compositions. A “Core Black” edition features canvas overlays and plush terrycloth stripes on the lateral sides, muting the shoe’s busy tooling with an avant-garde look and feel. Meanwhile, its counterpart take a far more conservative route, presented with slightly different shades of “Cloud White” and “Cream White” and a more traditional mix of leather and black mesh.
Both pairs are set to release via the adidas CONFIRMED App on June 21st, 2024 for $160 a pop, a notable markup from GR Shadowturf colorways. Enjoy detailed images of both options below and tap our Sneaker Release Dates to preview more upcoming Three Stripes drops.
