Nike is re-imagining its Air Max icons for the future, and for better or worse, the Air Max 90 has been the Beaverton brand’s go-to base for unapologetic experimentation. Models like the Air Max 90 Drift have been pretty well received, while on the flipside, inventions like the women’s Air Max 90 LV8 get met with harsh criticism (at least in our Instagram comments).
In any case, while Air Max purists might pull their hair out upon seen Tinker Hatfield’s masterpiece so blatantly overhauled, the model presses on with its mission of appealing to a younger, more segmented generation of consumers. Continuing to embrace different materials and color blocking without any one defined forumla, this latest pair comes with “Pink Oxford” leather atop a gauze-like “Guava Ice” mesh base. The lining, eyestays, and heel badge are made to match the titular color, while the model’s defining feature – a double stacked midsole with two layers of Air – comes painted in black. Completing the design, brown gum hits a re-worked outsole down below.
If you’re a fan, expect pairs to hit nike.com and retailers in Fall 2024 for $150 in women’s sizing. Scroll through official images below and tap our Sneaker Release Dates page to preview other upcoming drops from the Swoosh.
