Museum Visitor Brings Oversized Shrouds To Three ASICS GEL Kayano 14s

ASICS has done a bit of jet setting in the past few months with their collaborative output. They’ve enlisted Australia’s Above the Clouds, Denmark’s Wood Wood and consistent as ever, Bulgaria’s Kiko Kostadinov over the past quarter-and-change, globe trotting in a way that few footwear brands are willing to do. Korea is the next stamp in their passport, bringing the ASICS GEL-KAYANO 14 to The Museum Visitor for a three-pack of sleek Y2K-inspired styles.

Contrary to some collab capsules, each of the three pairs on offer here manage to strike a different chord aesthetically. In yellow, the dominant off-white tones on the upper and earthy shades towards the heel combine for an archival sort of look, hinting at antiques while still maintaining sportstyle charm. The pair in blue-on-white is arguably the most eye catching. While it begins with the requisite metallic accents that typically define the GEL-KAYANO 14, cobalt tones throughout the upper on a contrast sole make this one impossible to miss.

Finally, the (almost) all-black shoe elucidates again why nocturnal styles have such a high hit rate. Some nightshade tones sprinkled on the underlying mesh nonetheless imbue the special edition atmosphere carried by its two sibling pairs. All three share a newly added circular shroud, draping over the tongue and displaying the ASICS “a” icon proudly on the center of each shoe. Each design closes out with a gradient ASICS logo, a uniting touch across the full collection.

The three pairs of Museum Visitor ASICS GEL-Kayano 14 launch on July 25th via both brand’s Korean channels, where retail is set at 249,000원.
