While we still lie waiting Teddy Santis’ next step in his buzzy seasonal MADE in USA program, the Boston brand is ensuring that NB devotees are well-fed in the time in between. Following a Paris-exclusive capsule and a new appearance from the New Balance 997, a new New Balance 990v6 edition has just emerged in “Sea Salt” & “Grey.
Some of the more high-profile takes on the model showcase its ability to go experimental (see the Joe Freshgoods New Balance or Action Bronson New Balance), but this colorway keeps things in easily digestible territory. Pure white anchors the shoe at the edges of the upper, vintage off-white hits land towards the heel, while the rest of the shoe relies on a blend of trademark grey. Perhaps this colorway elucidates New Balance strategy with the 990v6; with the aforementioned collaborators and additional partners like DTLR allowed to outfit the model in vibrant looks, the mainline drops present an opportunity to get in on their “greatest leap forward” in accessible style.
The New Balance 990v6 MADE in USA “Sea Salt” releases on August 15th, retailing for $210. Check out official retailer images while you wait courtesy of Laced.
