Where To Buy The Joe Freshgoods x New Balance 990v6 “Prom Blue”

At the forefront of New Balance’s creative partnerships is Chicago’s very own Joe Freshgoods, who just recently opened up an art exhibit in Paris while launching his latest footwear collaboration with the brand. While the “Paris Red” version of the 990v6 is exclusive to his own channels, New Balance will be dropping the “Prom Blue” colorway on NewBalance.com and select retail partners on August 9th, 2024.

Inspired by “prom colors”, Joe Freshgoods’ latest project with the NB brand features the New Balance 990v6 completely doused in all-red and all-blue. These specific shades were common sights during his own personal experience with the formal outing, where ornate gowns and gaudy tuxedos take precedence over a classic black-tie look. It’s likely not a coincidence that the two hues are also representative of the colors of Chicago’s official flag.

Although his home turf served as the muse for this latest work, Joe book a flight to the host city of the Olympics, bringing “A Prom To Paris” with him. The shoes were a focal point of “A Friend Named Cousin”, an exhibit that featured a number of young local Parisian artists.

Once again, New Balance will be releasing the 990v6 on August 9th, 2024 for $220; a select number of retailers around the globe will be dropping the shoes, likely via raffles. See the store list just ahead.
