The rumors have been shut down.

Off-White x Air Jordan 1 “Canary” Is Not Releasing In 2025

Updated August 15th, 2024: Despite earlier rumors, the Off-White x Air Jordan 1 “Canary” is not expected to release in 2025.

The below article was originally published on August 9th, 2024.

In what’s already shaping up to be one of the most stacked years of sneaker drops in recent memory, 2025 is ready to add an absolute blockbuster — should the rumor reveal itself to be true. The mythical “Canary” colorway of the Off-White x Air Jordan 1, often seen on display in museums or in the hands of sneaker collectors with deep pockets, is expected to release this Holiday 2025 season, per @EldenMonitors. This would mark the first-ever retail release of the shoes.

Back in 2021, Virgil Abloh’s content-loaded Public Domain website was rife with resources for aspiring designers and sneakerheads who love to look back at the history books. One image united all of its fans as a number of unreleased Off-White x Nike/Jordan footwear (the Canary Air Jordan 1s included) were pictured heavily pixelated with “Actually Pending” text above each sneaker. However, there has been no updates on either Nike nor Off-White’s end.

Off White Nike Actually Pending Public Domain

Jump forward to 2024: Rumors of Nike re-releasing the Off-White x Nike: The 10 collection in 2026 began circulating. The original ten, which includes the “Chicago” colorway of the Off-White x Air Jordan 1, are expected to release again as part of a 10th Anniversary celebration of the iconic collaboration.

The signature “Canary” yellow shade has made it onto Off-White x Nike footwear on seldom occasions. Most recently, it appeared on the Air Force 1 Mid “Grim Reaper”, a release that yielded lukewarm reception and ended up sitting on shelves. If the rumors are true, the Off-White x Air Jordan 1 “Canary” jumps ahead to the top spot of most important 2025 Jordan Releases.
