ASICS has been pushing all the right buttons as of late, resurrecting long-archived runners to much acclaim and continuing to produce new models that have become popular buys as well. Earlier this year, the Japanese brand debuted the GEL-Kahana TR V4, a new China-exclusive shoe that stands out by way of its outdoor-minded, grippy tread. Now continuing to stay within the region, ASICS is reprising its ongoing relationship with Chinese fashion brand TroubleSmile with a collaborative take on the emerging model.
The base of the shoe features yellow and orange flame graphics, with metallic silver overlays resting above for even more flair. Adding uniqueness, the top portion of the tongue appears to be composed of orange terrycloth as opposed to leather, and the midsole sports a dusted, ashy grey finish. Pull laces appear up top, as is standard for the model, and yellow TroubleSmile tags jut out on the lateral sides. All told, it’s a true neck-breaker by all definitions and sure to be a top prize among ASICS fanatics worldwide.
The TroubleSmile x GEL-Kahana TR V4 drops August 16th at the ASICS Chengdu store, but no word has been mentioned about a global release. Unfortunately, it’s likely that out-of-area consumers will have to resort to the grey market to get their hands on a pair. In any case, enjoy detailed images of the shoes below and revisit our Sneaker Release Dates page on the off-chance the shoes release more broadly.
