Original article published August 20th, 2024:Nike’s riding the tech-runner wave with an aptly name introduction from the Air Pegasus family. Dubbed the Air Pegasus Wave, this new retro lifestyle silhouette captures the essence of the mid-2000s runner with some updated mods that touch on the future.
Already previewed in an all-black colorway, the Air Pegasus Wave makes headlines once again in a “Light Lemon Twist” colorway. The electric hue of yellow is accompanied with black borders on the upper frame, while the skeletal cage at the mid-foot sees a gradient that shifts from black to a Cyber green.
Beneath that shell is a twill mesh material above a diamond-patterned mesh layer for added breathability, while a jewel accessory at the heel hidse the Nike branding inside. Inside is a full-length Air cushioning unit, a tech spec legitimized by the text markings at the forefoot.
While this updated iteration of the Air Pegasus 2k5 has yet to hit stateside retailers, these are expected to drop late Fall 2024 for $160.
