The adidas SNS GT II “Berlin” Is Inspired By Underground Music

Swedish retailer Sneakersnstuff is celebrating its 25th anniversary and linking up with adidas for commemorative sneaker projects along the way. Back in May, the Stockholm-based brand kicked off yet another Three Stripes tour of Europe with the release of the adidas SNS GT II “London,” bringing a new terrace-inspired model to light for the very first time. Now as promised, the series pays visit to another locale; the party capital of the Europe, Berlin.

The adidas SNS GT II “Berlin” is said to be inspired by the city’s nightlife, taken in soothing shades of blue and light gold. The heel, eyelet, and T-toe overlays are all crafted out of periwinkle hairy suede, mimicking the color of twilight, while the base layer features a darker shade of grid-patterned nylon. Balancing out with some lightness, the stripes and backtab are crafted out of pastel yellow leather, and the tongue and lining present in white. Not without special branding, red SNS logos appear on the tongue and insoles.

The upper and sole of the SNS GT II lend themselves to the adidas Handball, but tweaks to the paneling and the incorporation of an adidas Gazelle tongue serve to produce a refreshed twist. Moreover, the height of the shoe is a bit lower than that of the Handball, and the foot entry point is a tad longer.

To mark the release, adidas and SNS will host a live music event in the basement of their Berlin store on September 12th, headlined by house DJ and producer Todd Terry.

The SNS x adidas GT II “Berlin” will release via the SNS APP on September 9th before becoming available at all SNS locations on September 14th. In the unlikely scenario there will be extra pairs available, they’ll release through the SNS website on September 19th. See detailed images of the shoes below ahead of the release.
